Rick Monday & Mike Garman

Rick Monday returned my card from Dodger Stadium. It's good to know that mail is still delivered. I also got two Mike Garman cards this week. Not sure when I sent the first one out, but the second came after a 6 week wait.

The team card

Here are the team cards that I have signed. I think these cards are best signed by the manager on the card, but many have passed away. The Rangers and Astros cards are my most recent returns and were gifts and both cards are signed by the manager. The Mets card is signed by Yogi Berra. Manager Joe Frazier died in February. The Red Sox card is signed by Bob Montgomery (the Red Sox Catcher) as Darrell Johnson died in 2004. The two Dodgers team cards are signed by Al Downing, Ron Cey, Bill Russell and Ken McMullen (all good signers). Walter Alston, who's number was retired by the Dodgers in 1977, died in 1984. Now off to eBay to try to find some more team cards. Thanks.

I was looking for a set list on Topps website this afternoon and realized that you can now order custom cards in the 1976 style. Here is the card I orderred for Miles. I will have him sign it and add it to my collection.

About to send out loads of cards

Maybe it's spring training or little league starting up, but whatever it is, I have the baseball bug. I'm sending 12 cards out on Tuesday for the 76 collection and another 8 for my kids. Plenty more in the wings, waiting on some stamp purchases. Look for more posts soon (hopefully).

It's been 6 months and I now have over 50 signed cards.
